For the first time ever you can purchase Beer in a can, but only in RIchmond, Virginia.  Ninety-one percent of the test group approved of the Gottfried Krueger Brewing Company beer which led to mass production nation-wide.   By the end of the year 37 other breweries also offered canned beer.


President Franklin D. Roosevelt sends a message to congress about the use of  our national resources.

Politician and former Secretary of the Interior John Barton Payne dies of pneumonia at the age of 79.

Southern floods claim the 14 lives and Bruno Hauptmann takes the stand in the Lindbergh Trial.
