Tuesday January 15, 1935

(This is an entry from the journal entitled Mexico Summer written by Elizabeth Lancaster Carsey 80-years-ago.  Click here to read more)

The 3rd Tuesday of the month- so the night for our Sunday School Class meeting at Mary Mullis’ – Large dinner.  Interesting study with Cleo Rosenberg on the Education in modern Japan.  Stark shower for Mrs. Dr. Haire – I was to be reporter because Virginia Hargrove couldn’t be there.  Mrs. Dr. Pate is gone and we surely miss her!

Here’s what else was happening 80-years-ago today:

Jews flee from the threat of terrorism along the French and German border, as many as 40,000 are expected to flee into France to escape the Nazi’s.   Hollywood couple, Mary Pickford and Douglass Fairbanks finalize their very public divorce and a model takes the stand in the Lindbergh baby trial.
