Tuesday January 22, 1935

After church Rev. Schrimsher (sp.) told me Dad said to say Ty-Ty was better.  Met Bro. Scoggins – he sings well. After church Alyce Claire and I walked through town and met Pete and Velma and Bernard. First time I’ve seen Bernard since Friday night! Finished up work on cards and semester reports.

Here’s what else was happening 80-years-ago today:

Alvin Karpis, aka Public Enemy no.1, and  his new partner Fred Hunter are wildly heading to the west.   He is what’s left of the  ruthless Barker-Karpis gang.

A rare snow storm in Texas claims 5 lives.   Crops and livestock are threatened.   One inch of snow is recorded in Florida!
