best

Want to hear Victor Velasquez at Miss Snider’sat 6 o’clock.  Fairly interesting but rather disappointing too.  Miss Snider is dumb!  Jame left us at the Zocals and we ate the supper.  Betty went home and Carsey and I just walked around – He talked about cars and we ached   to go for a long ride.  I had the best, craziest time with him that night that I’ve ever had! Got home about midnight.

Churubusco Gardens

Went to church at Gante with Carsey – The service lasted from 11:30 until 1:15!!  We were to meet Betty at the Park at 1:00 but knew it would be too late.  She met us later downtown – Ate dinner downtown and when I called Mrs. Ruiz she said I had money $30 came from the family but Betty had notice of $70 bonus deposited so I guess I won’t need the $30 – I’ll probably have $75.  Ojala.  We three went to Churubusco.  It is as pretty as ever and has the most beautiful gardens in all Mexico – We got back just in time to be 1/2 hour late for waffles at Davis.’  However Mrs. Davis had not come home as our lateness didn’t matter. Got the piece of music “Amapole del Camino” (poppy road) that I had left Ethelyn a peso for last year! She Betty are both Alpha Delta Pi’s.

Adolf Hitler made his first public speech since his operation in May, emerging from his retreat in the Bavarian mountains to give an address in Rosenheim warning his opponents that the Nazis were ready to crush all opposition.
