Another letter from home about Dr. L’s moving – Saw Hollywood Premiere and the cute show “Hands Across the Table”  with Carole Lombard and Fred MacMurry.  Both good!  Bernard and a friend sat with us – we discussed Linebaugh.

Manuel L. Quezon is inaugurated as the second President of the Philippines and the first president of the Philippine Commonwealth under the United States .

The United States and Canada signed a reciprocal trade agreement.

Letter from home telling of Carsey’s not having an oil job but trying out for sports reporter on one of the El Paso papers – Hope he isn’t too hard up!  Wrote home in detail about Civil Service job and chances for a day after Thanksgiving.  This is Thursday, of the fifth week of the second six weeks of the year!  Time is simply flying!  Had a long, letter yesterday from Rosamond Deen, I guess she is in Portables by now –

Prototype Noorduyn Norseman was tested at Pointe aux Trembles, Quebec

The United Kingdom general election was held. The National Government led by Stanley Baldwin won another majority.

Meantime, also in the UK, Ramsay MacDonald lost the Seaham constituency to Emanuel Shinwell.

Hussein, the king of Jordan from 1953 to 1999, was born

The First Regulation of the Nuremberg Laws passed. The Reich Citizenship law is trying to define a Jew.

The Congress of Industrial Organizations was created.
