Sunday April 28, 1935

(This is an entry from the journal entitled Mexico Summer written by Elizabeth Lancaster Carsey 80-years-ago. Click here to read more)

Didn’t have time to play at one church so I went to the Baptist (after almost sleeping the clock around.)  Had a date with Olie Massey to the show in the afternoon.  The gang went to see “Laddie” at night. No church services – Card from C.S. Mann, receiver that I could get the final 50% dividend from the defunt Gallup Bank!  Horray!!

Here’s what else was happening 80-years-ago today:

President Roosevelt hosts a Fireside Chat to talk about the Work Relief Program and Social Security Act.

Dust Pneumonia and U-boats in the news.
