Visited with Burdette’s in the evening – Saw Mrs. Martens and Mrs. Hightower in P.O. when we entered to pay bills, Yes!  today is pay-day!  Mrs. Martens has just returned from a month’s vacation in Nebraska with Mr. M’s people. Mr. Gilpin was at Burdette’s and their niece Mildred is still there.  It is Burdette’s wedding anniversary – eighteen years!!!

Here’s what else was happening 80-years-ago today

Ethiopia asked the League of Nations to dispatch a commission to investigate the use of poison gas by Italian troops.

Jewish booksellers throughout Nazi Germany were ordered to turn in their Reich Publications Chamber membership cards, without which no one was permitted to sell books
