Arnold and I attended S.S. and church left for Roswell about 2 P.M. – Got to Roswell at 10. He had to leave for Andrews after that.  Surely hated to see him go and have to travel so far after eleven!

Jean Batten set a new record for flying from Australia to England when she landed at Croydon Airport 5 days, 18 hours and 15 minutes after leaving Port Darwin.

The French freighter Oued Mellah was bombed and sunk by a plane of unknown nationality east of Barcelona. and the  British cargo ship Haida left Seattle for Hong Kong and disappeared.

Fooled around all day and had a shower at Mrs. Wheat’s for me from everyone in Van Horn. Arnold had to make a speech too! Surely was a lovely affair with Halloween decoration and a golden pumpkin coach brought in about 50 gifts!

Federal elections were held in Australia. The Australian Labour Party picked up 11 seats in the House of Representatives and 13 in the Senate, but the incumbent United Australia Party led by Prime Minister Joseph Lyons continued to stay in power with the help of its coalition partner the Country Party.

Stayed in bed till noon. Lanora came Thrus afternoon. She got out Image result for love is newsFriday for the games.   Saw Pauline Rosamond and Margie.  Had J.A. and Edd for  waffle supper.  Played pitch after washing of the dishes.  Later saw  Love Is News at Midnite preview!  Took pictures of Lanora for application here – Got blanks from it.

Blew hard all day.  Carsey had to be at work at 6:30!! I slept late and got up to go with him to lunch at 11.  He had to go back to work at 12 and I fixed up and read.  Slept a little. At 3 the wind had died. Went to town – met Pete Romain – fooled around – went to a western show – punk!

In retaliation for the Palos incident of the previous week, the German cruiser Königsberg forced the Spanish steamer Soton aground near Santander while the Graf Spee stopped another steamer, the Aragon, and forced it to change course to a Nationalist-held port.

The Public Order Act went into effect in the United Kingdom, banning the wearing of political uniforms and empowering the police to stop political marches when there is risk of disorder.
