Here’s what else was happening 80-years-ago today:

The sixteen convicted Soviet conspirators were executed by firing squad. From exile in Norway, Leon Trotsky declared it was his duty to avenge “one of the greatest crimes in the world’s history.

 

Image result for august 25, 1936 radioRadio signals on the entire coast of South America faded out between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM.  This includes airplane communication radios.  Some reports indicate that the fade-out was also experienced from New York to Honolulu.

Jesse Owens returns to his hometown of Cleveland where he receives a big welcome.
