Last night there was a “Black and White” Ball at the Churubusco Country Club, I suppose.  Surely would have liked to have been there.   Letter from Dad yesterday.  Went to Baptist Church and heard a nice young preacher with black hair in a white suit with a blue tie.  Rather good – looking – Missionary Meeting heard me explain some pictures of Mexico that I have.  Saw Jaime’s “Esquire”

Here’s what else was happening 80-years-ago today:

Grand Rapids Michigan says goodbye to the Street Car.

The start of the Swiss Grand Prix, Bremgarten.

The U.S. State Department published the text of a note sent to the Soviet Union, threatening an interruption of friendly relations unless the Soviets put a stop to plotting the violent overthrow of the American government.

Iran and the Soviet Union signed the Treaty of Establishment, Commerce and Navigation.
