Had planned a dinner party at Dwight’s for Velma and Thelma’s birthday but Dwight had the flu so Bernard and I ate at the Cafeteria.  I went to Pete’s and Velma’s until he sent a telegram and worked a little (very little, I think!)  Got a Kodak picture of Pete and Velma.  Mrs. Martens for lunch.

Here’s what else is happening 80-years-ago today:

 

Great airship, USS Macon, crashes into Pacific Ocean. Amazingly the entire crew survives.  

Also, today the 1st U.S. airplane flight with auto slung beneath fuselage, it happened in  New York.
