Had program in the afternoon in Assembly – “Why the Chimes Rang”  was not so good as when given at night.  Left at 4 (instead of 3) for home – Waited in the middle of the night in Pecos for almost 3 hours!

December 21, 1934: Josephine Baker appears in Zouzou, becoming the first black woman to star in a major motion picture.
