I was lucky enough to be a part of my Grandmother Elizabeth Carsey's last 40 years. We played countless card games, read books, played dress-up and many other games at her house. My family spent almost every holiday with her and Grandpa (until his death in 1985.) She was loved by the entire neighborhood and was often referred to as the Neighborhood Grandma. I held a special pride in the fact that I could call her mine!
Through her simplicity, she taught me the basics of life and the things which make you happy. Love your family, your church and music. The only thing worth crying over is beautiful music. And above all else, approach life with a sense of humor. I have done my best to live up to her expectations and pass those lessons onto my children.

Carsey came about 12 – Had lunch at Jewett’s walked around by Junior High and to the church. Played the organ for a while. Went to Kiplings for a cup of coffee. Carsey was cold – had left his coat at the house. On the way home we stopped at the Yucca to see “Gold diggers of 1937” Fair but rather funny. He had to leave immediately after the show! Surely was a nice visit-

Exams are over – Went to see Pete and Velma and get the waffle iron. Pete is looking so much better! We went to see “One in a Million” with the Olympic champion Sonja Henie. She skates and dances beautifully. Lorene and I stayed to see it twice. I could easily go again! A letter from Carsey says he will be here the week-end of the 29th but he cant make it here this week-end to see the picture – Nevertheless I’ve had a silly feeling ever since the letter came that he would be here. Even though he has an appointment with some truckers on Saturday! How foolish of me – and my mind tells me he won’t be here! Instead he called me about 8 and said he’d be over about noon tomorrow!!!
