Got up in time for dinner – took Mary Jo to Cruces and came back to Roswell.  Got here about eleven P.M. Arnold wants me to marry him right away and I wish I could but I don’t see how!

The New York Yankees won the World Series for the second straight year, four games to one, with a 4–2 defeat of the New York Giants.

Sir Oswald Mosley was knocked unconscious by a stone that struck him in the head when he stood on a truck to address a Fascist rally in Liverpool.

Cabo Santo Tomé Ship built in Bilbao (Basque Country, Spain) and used for passenger transport between Italy, France, Spain, and South America. During the Spanish Civil War was attacked, burned and sunk near Cape Rosa (El Kala, Algeria) by the nationalist coastguards Dato and Canalejas.

A Pan American-Grace Airways Sikorsky S-43 amphibious aircraft plunged into the ocean 20 miles off Cristóbal, Panama, killing all 14 aboard.

Generalissimo Francisco Franco informed Italy that he had intelligence that the Soviets were shipping arms to the Republic. Franco urged Italian action to stop the transports.

Cashed Jaime’s money order and it goes for things I want that I wouldn’t have otherwise bless him!  Went to the glass factory and bought a blue glass virgin- Just a small one bit it suits me. On the way home I saw some monk – bookends that matched the monje I got for Christmas for $4.50 so I indulged and came home loaded

In Austria, the Heimwehr expelled Emil Fey from its ranks and forbade other members of the organization from having any contact with him. Fey had been locked in a long rivalry with Ernst Rüdiger Starhemberg for control of the Heimwehr.
