Here’s what else was happening 80-years-ago today.

The second Moscow Trial began. 17 lesser communist leaders known as the Anti-Soviet Trotskyist Center were charged with an anti-Stalin conspiracy.

The entire Japanese cabinet resigned due to a split between military leaders and anti-military political parties in the National Diet who thought that the army had too much influence over the government

beautifully. Lorene and I stayed to see it twice. I could easily go again! A letter from Carsey says he will be here the week-end of the 29th but he cant make it here this week-end to see the picture – Nevertheless I’ve had a silly feeling ever since the letter came that he would be here. Even though he has an appointment with some truckers on Saturday! How foolish of me – and my mind tells me he won’t be here! Instead he called me about 8 and said he’d be over about noon tomorrow!!!










I have put my foot in it, perhaps cooked my goose by writing that letter to C. Hinkle. I should have written Mr. Pope (according to Mr. P) and someone has blabbed to the present Spanish Teachers that I want their jobs! What a nice fix I’m in. and to top it all, there is a 
















Cots set up in Pratt Gymnasium, Amhurst College – Amhurst, Mass, to house victims of the Great Flood.
