Here’ s what else was happening 80-years-ago today:

Claude Neal went missing from a Florida farm. He was later lynched for the rape of a girl, but had never been tried.   His violent death led to riots and ultimately the end of lynching in the U.S.

It could be death for a suspected kidnapper.
