Dressed for school but after I got there Mr. V said he could get me a sub.  So I fixed my lesson plans and came home! Felt good to lie down and to know I could stay there all day! Mrs. Grady brought me dinner and supper.

Left for Tatum about 4:15 P.M. Sent English book back to MacMillan Company – Got to Tatum about six.  Betsy Paine was there – Retired early – rain threatened.

Adolf Hitler summoned the Reichstag for Saturday at noon. International speculation abounded as to what the purpose of the session might be, as all that was announced for the agenda was “acceptance of a declaration of the German government.”

Yugoslavian Prime Minister Milan Stojadinović survived an assassination attempt when a Milan Stojadinović.jpgMacedonian deputy shot at him on the floor of the Chamber. Stojadinović was unhurt as another deputy struck the assailant’s arm and caused the shots to go wild

Got Asylum by Seabrook from the library.   Read it in one night and enjoyed it. Aylce Claire went to Tatum though she hadn’t planned to until last night. No word from Jaime yet about opera.

Went to Hagerman for 2nd Sunday meeting of the League –  Hazel Hanson and “Shorty” Miller were there through not together – I went with Johnston’s!

President Roosevelt has his 6th Fireside Chat – tonight’s topic Government and Capitalism.

The St. Louis Cardinals clinched the National League pennant on the final day of the season when the New York Giants were eliminated by losing to the Brooklyn Dodgers 8-5 in ten innings.

Babe Ruth played his final game as a Yankee, going 0-for-3 at Griffith Stadium in Washington during a 5-3 loss to the Senators.

No Post today.   She has her dream job of teaching in Roswell and playing the organ at work but is still caught up in the rush of her summer romance.  Still to come – why she almost went mad on Halloween!

The RMS Queen Mary was launched into Glasgow‘s River Clyde in the presence of King George V and the ship’s namesake, Queen consort Mary of Teck. It was the largest ship in the world at the time.

Afghanistan was admitted to the League of Nations.
